Who We Are...
Grapes is Hilo's first and only dedicated wine store. We don't sell beer, hard liquor, cigarettes, beef-jerky, wine gizmos…you get the idea. The store is cozy (200 sq feet!) and specializes in wines not commonly found in super markets. Grapes offers you a selection of over 100 different wines from around the world, with most wines priced between $10-$13 per bottle (of course this doesn't stop us from buying Brunello's either).
The proprietor of Grapes is Randy Nunokawa. Randy is committed to finding you the best wines for the best value. He tastes all wines prior to sale to assure you of quality and to help you with wine and food pairings, (Hey, it's a hard job, but somebody has to do it!).
Our Location...
Some of our first time customers have a hard time finding Grapes. We're located in the town of Hilo on the east side of Hawai'i Island at the intersection of Aupuni Street and Kilauea Avenue. On the makai-side (ocean-side) of Kilauea Avenue and fronting Aupuni Street are the new court house and a drive through coffee shop. Grapes is located on the mauka-side (mountain-side) where Aupuni Street intersects Kilauea Avenue; right behind the stop light. Or, look for the local landmarkKawamoto's Okazuya. Grapes is three shops down from Kawamoto's as you head towards Café 100. Yep, this is a small town where most directions are given based on landmarks.

Service Hours...
Grapes is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. We are closed on Sundays because that's when Randy plays golf and on Mondays because that's when he recovers from playing golf.

WINE TASTING!
Thursday, May 17, 2012
3:00 - 6:30p
I've got big news boys and girls! This may be the last wine tasting newsletter posted at our old (original) store. We are so close to getting final approval that I'm betting the kitchen sink that we'll be at our new location in June of this year. Yes, that's right... lots more room when we have wine tastings, more parking, more wine, more fun!!! Stay tuned for upcoming details at The Grapesvine!
It's bittersweet; I'm going miss our cozy digs. So come down to Grapes and help us celebrate and bid a fond farewell to 806 Kilauea Avenue! We will be showcasing a crisp Pinot Grigio from Venezie, a gorgeous Viognier from France, a delicious Pinot Noir from Buena Vista, and a fabulous Merlot from Umbria, Italy.
As always, we look forward to seeing you and your friends this Thursday – Randy
