Contrade 2015 Negroamaro, Puglia, Italy

Oh my, what a great wine!  The district of Puglia is at the heel of the Italian boot and grows grapes that stands up to warmer temperatures.  The grape varietal Negroamaro is no exception.  Negroamaro comes from the Latin word niger (black) and Greek word mavros (dark).  The wine shows flavors of blackberries, black plums and hints of leather and spice with soft tannins on the finish.  Perfect for pasta with hearty tomato sauces or salami and olives with crusty bread.  At $11.00 per bottle, life doesn’t get any better.  Enjoy!
